Over the past few years, the Salesian Cooperators - Young Members Committee (YMC) has been accompanying young people in knowing and deepening their faith through a variety of activities, such as youth summer camp, Alpha Course for YMC volunteers, candlelight prayer, Prayer Warriors, etc. To further respond to the spiritual needs of working young adults (18–35), we are launching an open‑registration “ymc x alpha” gathering this year. It aims to help the young professionals (both Catholic and non‑Catholic) deepen their understanding of faith, build a habit of prayer, nurture the next generation of leaders, and sustain a vibrant faith group.

To achieve this goal, we have developed a three‑stage strategy:
Stage 1: Initial Engagement (Building Online Presence and Content)
  • Platform Setup: Create dedicated social media accounts (IG/Threads) as the primary channels for reaching out the young professionals.
  • Content Strategy: Use a light‑hearted and humorous tone to share relatable workplace experiences (such as work stress, interpersonal relationships, and career exploration), drawing attention and interaction from the target audience and gradually building a friendly and trustworthy image.
Stage 2: Mid‑term Interaction (Relationship Building and Introductory Faith Exploration)
  • Online–Offline Engagement: Use Q&A, themed discussions, and small sharing sessions as low‑barrier activities to encourage participation and better understand the backgrounds and needs of followers.
  • Group Atmosphere: Naturally integrate faith values and personal testimonies into interactions, offering an initial introduction to faith while fostering a sense of belongings.
Stage 3: Long‑term Formation (Alpha Course Implementation and Leadership Training)
  • Core Programme: Conduct a series of Alpha Course gatherings that explore faith and life through open conversation, inspiring participants or strengthening their foundations in faith.
  • Habit‑building and Leadership Development: Highlight the importance of prayer in daily life, guiding participants to cultivate a consistent prayer habit. Identify those with leadership potential and offer formation opportunities to help them gradually become new leaders within the group.
Through this systematic approach, we hope to effectively reach out and accompany young working adults, support their growth in faith, and bring long‑term vitality and continuity to the group.
